gunrunner68,I don't know how my SSG PI (69, Green Gun or what ever you want to call it) will compare, but just yesterday afternoon I went to the range and ran some test loads down the tube to 100yd.Using a Molly Coat 168 grain Seirra HPBT Match with std CCI primers and Lake City brass, I had 2 groups of 5 make 1 ragged hole that you could completely cover with a quarter. My hot load is 45.1 grains and light load was 40.8 grains, both using Hodgdon BL-C(2).

a few years ago I had Marlin in 375 Win and at 100 yards, open sights which would shoot a 3 shot group which you could cover with a quarter...and like a fool I sold it...point is (in my humble opinion) at 100 yards many $300 dollar rifle's might shoot as well as any $2000 dollar rifle but when you start extending the range 150, 200, 250+++ then I can't imagine many $300 rifles shooting as well as the $2000 rifles. The primary question I ask my self when buying or consider buying: "parts availability and repair location's" so I prefer to spend my money on anything made or assembled in AMERICA..altho I have one Benelli Super Black Eagle [This message has been edited by michael minarik (edited 04-06-2002).]

A week ago today, I spent the afternoon "breaking in" the barrel on my new AR-10T 24" barrel, just like the little instruction pamplet told me to do. I loaded (with new Winchester brass) 168 grain A-Max moly coated bullets and 42 grains of 2230-c powder. After spending the afternoon shooting this rifle, I believe that this rifle has the capability of producing groups comparable to any bolt gun or single shot. Have fun with your AR-10T!!

I have heard negative comments about breaking in a barrel with moly-coated bullets. Any takers on the subject?

I have heard that too Idsman,,,in the pamplet it stated that it would cut the anount of ammo to break from 200 rounds to about half of that if a person used moly. And it recommended using moly,,Black Hills,, Too late now for me,,but I would like to hear from others on this,,

I have a factory stock AR10T with the optional 24" walther polygonal barrel. Broke it in with non moly.It will shoot .625" groupings at 100 yrds. 168 gr. sierra hpbt's ,41.4gr IMR 4064, match primers.I originally wanted to get the sr-25 but it was not available at that time. One good thing to mention is that my ar10T has never had a single jam/malfunction in 372 rounds. I've heard the sr25's are a little more picky(although rated slightly more accurate) Rayzor25
