Japanese Military(?) rifle

Do any of Y'all know the difference between a "Murata" rifle and "Arisaka" I saw a Japanese rifle today (I did not get all the details, but some)it had the Chrysanthemum Crest and Japanese writting on the top of the reciever ring - of course I cant read Japanese. It had a weird safety "knob" on the back of the bolt and a straight bolt handle. It looked to have a 3/4 length stock in more of a sporter style w/semi nice wood. The barrel was about 19" with no sights but drilled for a mount. The shop was closing and I was unable to ask questions, but it was intriguing.

    Ok - I found it on another site. It is the Arisaka T38, but sporterized. Dang - was hoping I found a deal.

    Japanese Type 20 (1887) Rifle: Caliber: 8mm, Overall length: 47.5", Overall weight: 8.68 lbs., Type of action: Turnbolt, Type of magazine: Tubular, Capacity 8, Barrel length: 29.5", Type of bolt: 2 piece, rotating head. Preceeded by the Type 13 single shot Murata in 11mm caliber, modified to a tube repeater in 1887.
