OK, First thing! I'm not looking to do anything illegal!!!!!
The other day I was at the range with some shooting buddies of mine.
At this range you need to "Be somenoe that knows someone", (So to speak.) The range is the same one that the Navy seals and the local SWAT use. There were some awesome seals with suppressed MP5's. While the seale were shooting everyone at the range was stunned. They shoot perfect and quiet.
Questions
1st How do suppressors work? What is in side of them? How is it that a 9mm luger can sound like a 22short? This amazes me.
Please, like i said, I'm not looking to do anything illegal, I'm just curious as to how they work.
Thankyou for your time.
sincerly,
Daniel Ace

You might wanna swing by the site :
www.soundmoderators.co.uk
It'd give you a slight idea of what is inside a supressor (mostly air though, and small spaces or compartments !!)
I believe there's another fun site :
www.howstuffworks.com
More specifically, this site is about gun silencers !!
www.howstuffworks.com/question112.htm
Having made my own silencer (for an Ansh?tz 1451 .22LR rifle) and experienced the weird silence - I also find it interesting.
A standard MagLite lamp made it out for the tube for the silencer.
I hope you get some good answers on this subject.
Did you know, that a standard plastic soda-bottle - around 1/4gallon or around that - is good for a one shot silencer, but only up close and using sub-sonic cartridges??
Yup !! just tape it to the barrel - and HEY !!! DON'T USE A FULL BOTTLE !!!!
