What to Carry?

I cant carry the P97 my wife bought me for that purpose after toting it a couple of days it is just to uncomfortable to have tucked when driving or having to bend over for something. So now I have to by anther pistol to carry but I cant get rid of my P97.It is my new house gun and I would be in the dog house so to speak.I have looked around a little and tucked a S&W CS45 today at the Gun Store but the slide release lever does a little too much rubbing,I have always wanted a Glock 29 10mm but am cocerned about the severe lack of interest in the cartridge..45 has proven itself but with a shorter barrel Im concerned it will lose too much velocity since ts already a slow round.I may get some laughs about this but I don feel the .40s&w is powerful enough when I shoot it which is why I wont own a 9mm.So my question is pretty much this:Get a 10mm and feel well armed but not be(given lack of interest in the round)or buy a .45 and load +p?Glock 29 or Glock 30?I would be loading the lightest round in either,135 grain 10mm and 165 +p .45.Would I be good with either or go with .45 like everybody else in America..lol Thanks To All

Glad to see you are doing well.
My personal preference is a Colt Combat Commander .45.
I just do not like the Glock. I did have a Sig 220 one time
and did like it. I have been looking at a Taurus Millenium .45,
10 rounds and lifetime warranty. It feels good in my hand, but
I haven't shot one. I have two Colts, and don't know if I want
to get a double action. I have shot the Colt for so long it would
take a lot of practice to get used to the DA pull on the Taurus. If you really want the 10mm, go for it.
Stock up on carry loads, and reload for practice.

After reading your input in the recent past, and your advice to others encouraging the .357 SIG round, why don't you consider a Sig Sauer, model P229, .357 SIG Cal. It should be able to fulfill your needs.

I always carry mine cocked and locked. You have to have a good
holster where the strap fits between the hammer and frame (while cocked), be it a belt or shoulder holster. I either carry in a
Galco (old Jacka$$) horizontal shoulder holster, Galco high ride or
Bianchi Cyclone. Just depends on clothing and where I am going. In
20+ years of carrying a Colt there was one time the safety got knocked
off while carrying cocked and locked. I noticed it when I got home, pulled the weapon from its holster and checked the safety. That was on a well used Combat Gov't Model and the safety detent spring was weak. Replaced it, and it never happened again.

They can answer all your questions about the Glock
and 10mm.
Pundunts have been talking about the demise of the
10mm for over 10 years and it is still here.
$425 for a new glock 29 is a "good" price. And, it
is an awesome round.

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them.

Been tied up for 2 wks and what can I say 'cept I'm glad your ok. Can't leave you alone for a minute.....Have you checked out the Springfield XD? I believe it's offered in 9mm, .40, and .357 sig., but not .45 at this time. Shot the 9mm version and as soon as funds are there I'll get one in .40. VERY NICE WEAPON.
