Which gun should I buy for conceal carry?

I've been looking around for a while for a carry gun. I've gotten it down to two guns: the Glock 23, and the CZ100. Both are medium sized pistols with poly frames chambered for .40 cal. Almost everyone I talke to says glocks are the best thing in the world, but few people have even heard of the CZ100. I like the CZ, and it's a bit thinner and lighter than the glock, but If the quality and dependability is questionable then I will go with the glock 23.

Does anyone have any experience with the CZ100 who can tell me how it stacks up agianst a glock? Also, I am open to suggestions of guns that I may not have considered that are in the same size range as these.

If you go with a CZ go with a CZ-75 compact. Those CZ100's are some ugly pistols. From what I have seen on here the CZ-75'are top quality guns and highly accurate.I am on the market for a CC gun also but I am getting a Glock because it is offered in 10mm.Glocks are good and CZ's are good but the CZ will be alittle cheaper. Also the CZ is double action and single action and can be carried cocked and locked as opposed to the Glocks double action only.Good Luck

Also I had a Kel-Tec P40 which I dont think you can beat for concealability. They dont make them anymore but they can still be found especially on gunbroker. One cool thing abot them is you can buy a pocket clip from Kel-Tec and nobody will even know you have it.Mine was totally reliable and never malfunctioned on me once in 500+ rounds>They are good guns affordabe and in my opinion the most concealable for size and weight just 15 ounces.

I love a Glock, but to be fair and open minded I have to say the CZ75b is as good as any gun ever made.I have a couple of CZs and all caliber Glocks. The Glock 23 is a great gun as is the CZ75 which is also avaliable in .40 auto.I have a book on the CZ75 and it says every 75 is dipped in a type of oil and the slide racked by a machine a minimum of 10,000 times to remove any metal burrs, and to break the gun in so its ready to go right out of the box.Thats what I call real quality control. It makes no mention of the other models being done this way,not to say there not.But either of the two are true winners.I like the way both guns shoot and handle.

    Best wishes!!

I read a review on the CZ 97B and I was extemely impressed on the quality control and theway the manufacture on that gun is Im not sure if its the same as other CZ models. But it said about the consryction all being done by one technician then it ges to the sighting division then it goes to the firing department. If there is any problem with function it goes back to the same technician that assembled it to be reworked then back out.If firing has a probem with accuracy it goes back to sighting to be adjusted and then returns to firing for recheck. It talks about the machine that racks the slide to break in Rugster referred too.But with what I read about the 97B they have about the best quality control and manufacturing procedures I have seen.

Stick with the glock, Ive never seen a cop sporting a cz on his hip. Glocks are proven and the parts are readily available which makes them much more desirable. I too am looking at a new carry gun but am looking at HK USP compact 40, Sig 229 40 and Glock 22 or 23. So far looks and feel gotta go to the HK then the Sig but the glock is around $200 cheaper than the Sig and $275 cheaper than the HK. New I can get the glock for around $430.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

I own a Glock 23 and an HK USP .40 Compact. I really like both firearms. Both are reliable and accurate. You would be well served with either.

I'm very happy with my Glock, but the handgun I reach for 90% of the time is my airweight S&W loaded RBCD rounds. Comfort-wise, I am always happiest with a wheel gun; never had one jam or stove-pipe a round.

The H&K is a great choice, I have a USP .40 and I love everything about it, the compact is definately a better choice for a dedicated carry gun.

One word of caution. I had a situation where I was only able to use one arm/hand in a confrontation and found that you need two if you have a problem with a semi-auto. (Stovepipe, bad primer, etc..) Now I carry my 649 as a backup if not as a primary.
