I got a Browning A 5 from my great granddad. I was wondering about what it is worth. It is not in that great condition (someone tried to steal it and sawed off the barrel and stock). The serial number on it is 9951.

From 1903-1924 the first 13,000 A-5's came into this country, my guess is your's is around 1920's. Too bad about the barrel and stock being cut...you could probably find another barrel and stock at a gun show if it has sentimental value....other wise probably not worth much, less than a $100

is it a Belgium made browning? Around here, that receiver could sell for $200-$300 dollars if it is in good shape. If it is a Beligium made A5, find a nice Beligium made barrel and stock and put it back together.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.
