I'm not exactly sure of the value, I need to know the model number to look that up.

I do know that rebarreling is totally practical. Yes, you can get replacement barrels, as a matter of fact any kind of barrel you want. You'll order a blank pre-rifled barrel in the configureation you want, then have a gunsmith chamber and thread it and put it on your gun.

Pre-1991 guns were made in Birmingham England. The action is based off the K98 mauser action.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

    If the fore stock has a tip added(darker brown-redish) then it's a 1200/1200 Super.
Parker Hales were very good rifles. Usually great shooters.
If your wanting a more powerful cartridge, consider having it rechambered. Usually less expensive, keeps it more orginal.
If not shooting as well as you'd like it, there are lots of things to explore to improve that without breaking the bank.

    Happy Bullet Holes!

Hello, Northern Neighbor! A rare thing that--not the rifle--but a Canadian that still owns a gun! (Just kidding--but please keep your brand of gun control north of the border!) Parker Hales are not rare, but are good rifles. There was good information in the preceeding posts; it is basically a '98 Mauser and not too difficult to rebarrel. Most any competent gunsmith that includes rebarrelling in his services should be able to help you. I have a good Canadian friend with whom I went through the gunsmithing school in the early '80s. He was in business in Calgary for a number of years, and was very good, but is no longer active. He could probably refer you to someone who would rebarrel your rifle, but I am reluctant to post his e-mail address without permission; so you can e-mail me directly at ccnorth@teleport.com and I'll give it to you. As for the value, it is my opinion that us Yanks probably can not give you an accurate one for Canada, as the situation and market are so different there; but here it would be worth $375-425 depending on condition.
