i have few questions
1. how much would i have to shell out for a stripped, pre-ban lower receiver for AR15?
2. would having a pre-ban lower receiver make a gun preban, thus allowing me to use 30rd clips and telescopic stock?
3. would i have to buy whole receiver (body + parts kit) or stripped is enough?
4. do i need FFL to buy pre-ban lower receiver or is a FOID card enough?
i think that would be all...
if i think of anything else ill let you know
and, meanwhile, thanks
PEACE!

And you can use pre-ban hi-cap mags in any post ban gun, its perfectly legal. Its just not legal to produce hi cap magazines for civilians anymore.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

While leeblackman is correct, pre-bar AR receivers are just about impossible to find. During the time that pre-ban ARs were made, folks bought GUNS, not gun parts; putting together parts has become popular only within the last 10 or so years. The only pre-ban receivers you are likely to see will be on complete rifles.
Besides, there's nothing desirable about pre-ban "parts guns". Who really needs a flash hider and bayonet lug on an AR? Complete, original pre-ban rifles are collectible (and more expensive) because they are relatively scarce and can no longer be produced. "Parts guns" have no value other than as "shooters", so it doesn't matter whether they are pre or post ban.
An FFL is NEVER needed by an individual to buy a gun. (The lower receiver of an AR IS the gun.) You will need to check your state's laws to determine if you eligible to buy it, and at what age.
