Have Colt Flat-top AR-15, Trying to mount a Tasco NVS-470 scope to the AR, I know I need a "riser mount" I have looked at the B-Square, But I think I need a longer mount, Can't get the NVS/470 go back past the charging handle...... Anyone have any ideas?

I am not familiar with your scope, but my flat top mounts
a redfield with a riser mount that costs about 20 dollars over
ebay. They sell very often. The only thing I add to it is a
set screw so that it always goes back to the same position.
It is very nice to use it to remove the scope and put a regular handle
on it, or another scope, like a night vision scope instead. This riser
will keep the group within about an inch removing it and putting it
    back on.

Try using a one piece base and rings mount. I have a B-Square, Colt marked mount on my CAR-A3. Not only does it work great, but when I detach and reatach it holds zero.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Thanks for the info..... Just want to make sure you know what the scope is. It's a BIG STARLIGHT, and has a Mickey Mouse , Weaver type mount on it. It sits back too much that my chin hits the charging handle when I try to look in it.

Oops, sorry. I didn't know you were talking about a starlight scope, I though you were talking about normal optics. Now that I read your post again, and see the NVS, I figured it out, I just read it to fast last time.

There are a few places to get some quality risers. Try bushmaster, I think they might have them. www.bushmaster.com

You might also try www.gggaz.com, they have alot of stuff for Ar's
