I've noticed these auctions for a couple weeks. Look suspect to me, we have auctions here at the sherrifs office, but not over the internet. CAVAT EMPORUM or what ever it is, be careful!!

Lots of departments are authorised to auction weapons. Never heard of them online, but that's progress!

Looks like it's a dealer acting as a broker for the dept. Alot of counties have realized they were cutting up a sizeable amount of revenue.

I think Skyking et al are likely correct...and am wondering if that seller name does not stand for King County District Atorney or something of that nature. They have so many weapons on auction right now I would doubt they are bogus but cannot say for sure! Why not send them an e-mail and ask? Couldn't hurt at any rate!

Suspect? Yeah I would think it is suspect. #1 I saw an LC Smith 12 g. double barrel shotgun on there and it is going for $500.00. Can't get any definition from the photo but I think the gun goes for around $1000.00. However, for some reason they don't show the end of the barrel. If it is sawed off, as most bad guys would do with it, it would probably go for around $100.00.
#2 Check this one out. http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=17076376 What is wrong with this picture?[:o)]

My aim is to hit what I'm shooting at.

Gotcha! Yup, thats a Taurus all right! How about some input from the topi moderator on this one? Could you please let us know what you know/think of this seller? That Wildey going for $1000 looks like fun and I would like to take a shot at it if It doesn't turn ou to be bogus. Also, there are a lot of bids placed on ost of these guns so if they are not for real there is going to be a LOT of legal unpleasantness occurring here that likelywill involve GB at some point or another!

the point of so many guns all ending at once or close together is one bad thing to me,they could be long gone with the money from 55 auctions,I like the stainless 1022,the luger and a couple more but I think I may pass

In Kalif they used to auction off siezed firearms, but local gun shops stopped that practice. Also local gun shops stopped the practice of retiring deputies being able to purchase the revolvers that they carried during their career.

When they went to Glocks, all those Model 66s went to a large out of state wholesaler.

Interesting. However, I have NEVER seen a posting of seized items that did not specifically list the agency involved. Note that he implies that it is the King County DA, but doesn't actually say it.

Look at all the red flags: Bad photos, bad descriptions, all sales final, no feedback; I'd be very cautious. If I were tempted to bid & won, I'd verify the identity of the seller before sending any money.

One more thing: many PD's scratched evidence numbers on seized items; don't expect any "collectibles".
