I have a Browning light twenty guage auto shotgun, it is in good shape, and was wondering if anyone could give me a value range on it.

Thank you for your help!!!

Without a real description you make the task difficult...

$125.00 for a beat up shot-out piece that still functions. $1,000.00 for a fully optioned NIB piece made in Belgium. More for special order guns, but sometimes the market is so small as to defy pricing.

A common A-5 in 20 ga. with nice wood and a vent rib that has seen limited use might set you back between $600 and $750 if Belgian. A Japanese gun will be worth somewhat less (10%-25%).

$300 - $1000... depending on the precise graded condition.

BOX?? PAPERS?? CHOKE?? VENT?? BARREL LENGTH?? ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. WHEN MADE?? WHERE MADE??

I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

Sonja - Welcome to this forum. I suppose you thought you would get a more definite response? But there are many variations in that shotgun line - kinda like asking what's a lady's Rolex worth?
A few pointers - all of this in addition to the paramount importance of the condition of the wood and metal finish, inside and out - buyers do not want rust, scratches, dings nor especially alterations to the original piece (like an added rubber pad on the stock and/or a shortened stock or barrel or added chokes or other devices to the gun) There is lots of information on the barrel indicating where it was made - Japan, Belgium - and this is important. The barrel may have a raised ventilated rib running its length (very desirable) Somewhere along the barrel is a "choke code" consisting of asterisks and possible other marks - you will probably find * or *- or ** or **- on the side of your barrel. On the underside of the gun just ahead of the loading port is the serial number, a combination of alpha and numeric characters - this will tell you where and when the receiver was manufactured. Without actually seeing and holding the gun one would have to have as thorough a description as possible. I would even like to know the barrel length, at least the length from the muzzle to the front of the receiver where the barrel makes up to the receiver. You might find this site helpful as well:

Anyway, post a detailed description and I'm sure you'll get a pretty good idea of value. You might also check the gunbroker auction lots to see what's going on with comparable guns.
