I have a Colt National Match with what I think is a Centaur Systems Quadra comp on it. I cant find any info on the comp system. Is the co. still in business?

    I don't think so.
Several of us here had them back before we knew a good gunsmith for a fitted barrel and compensator. They work pretty well unless you lose the little roller bearing and wonder why your gun is so loose, like one guy did.

Yes losing the roller bearing or the shim pack that also came with it will give you a pistol that will be very loose in lock up. Also because of the very small bearing area "PUN INTENDED" and hardness of the roller . This system will wear the bottom locking lugs of the barrel fairly quickly.and you will need to ad shims. The roller can be replaced with one from a auto universal joint if you ask for a scraped one at a repair shop.
EDIT Brier The shim pack had a NUMER of shims the Idea was to add shims one at a time until the slide would not close then remove the thinnest shim that would just let the slide close. This was a quick and dirty way of fitting the back of the barrel to take out any vertical movement between one shot to the next. But many time it left a gun that the firing pin hit too far of center on the primer. The proper way is to limit the amount the top lugs engage the slide so the firing pin hits near center and then fit oversize rear lugs to just allow the slide to close but then you fit the over size barrel hood to eliminate front to back movement as well as side to side movement of the rear of the barrel . The front of barrel movement is reduced by fitting the barrel to bushing as well as bushing to the slide. Hope this Help Perry Shooter

Haven't lost the needle bearing yet but the shim pack is kind of slim. Any ideas on how thick the original shim was??

Thanks for the info. I think it may be time to redo the gun.

Just a final line, I found the instructions and lots of parts at the dealer where I bought the gun. Thanks for the help here.
