Cracks in stock-- Accuracy?

Hi; I'm looking at a Marlin 336, but it has 2 cracks right behind the hammer in the stock. Is this a problem? Will it affect the accuracy? Thanks, Mike

Cracks in that area will continue to get worse, unless stabilized. Worsening cracks will allow the butt stock to move up and down - affecting the way the gun points when mounted.

I agree with 32 Magnum. These type of cracks are fairly common. They can be repaired and if done correctly will be stronger than original and will not happen again in those spots.
