Are the parts in a Para Ordnance LDA 45 ACP the same and compatible with common 1911 parts?

Thanks,
Kentucky

Which parts are you interested in?

P-14 LDA is a double stack gun with a fatter frame, and an altered double-action fire control group.

I don't think you're going to find all that much parts compatibility with an "ordinary" single-action single stack 1911. *Maybe* the uppers/slides are compatible.

Edit: Mag release button may be compatible. Sights could interchange with other guns if they use the same dovetail that Para does, though being rigid about this, "standard" (ie Colt milspec) 1911s don't have dovetailed front sights. Its probably fair to say that the frame, magazines, trigger, sear, and other fire control parts will NOT be compatible.

You'll probably find a bit more compatibility with the other Para double-stack guns.

I don't know how feasible it is to convert the LDA into a conventional single action, by the way.

Mostly internal parts, I did get a 1911 extended slide release from Brownells and it worked with only minor sanding...

    Thanks,

It depends if the LDA is a single or double stack. All slide parts will interchange. In a double stack LDA frame NO. Single stack the mag release, slide stop and mabe the main spring housing.
