NFA Transfer Question

I am a private individual and own an NFA firearm on a Form 4. It is my understanding that if I want to transfer it, it must be transferred on a Form 4 and the tax paid regardless if the buyer is an individual, trustee, or class 3 dealer. Am I correct? Thank you.

Unless you die. Then your lucky designee gets a one time tax free transfer on it.
but the transferee still must get the sign off or chief law enforcement officers signature or form a trust.
