Can you safely use 1" marine type flares in a Polish 26.5 mm
flare gun?

    The nominal difference is approximately .040 in diameter. I would wrap some heavy duty duct tape around the body of the smaller flare shell to make up the difference. The duct tape I use is .012 give or take .001, 3 wraps should do it.

    Flare shells are low pressure. The Polish flare guns are steel, copies of the one the Russians first used during W W II. I've seen brain dead bozos shooting conventional shotgun shells from them using aluminum adapters.
