I'm stumped on identifying this Remington Model 700. I would like the model name and approximate date made if possible. Thanks for your help.
Receiver marked Model 700
300 WSM caliber
Barrel is 24 inches
Metal is matte blued
No sights
Stock is walnut, very dark brown with very plain checkering and two
reinforcing crossbolts. Thick buttpad is "Remington" marked.
Has Monte Carlo buttstock. Forend is angle cut like many ADL models with no forend tip. Has Hinged floorplate
Short action
This rifle looks a lot like the African Plains rifle except it has the monte carlo cut and no forend tip.

Look in the back of your Blue Book of Gun Values, the Remington date codes are listed. If you don't have a Blue Book, go to the Remington wed site, www.remington.com
Your rifle should be a BDL, if it has a floor plate as you described.
I'm not really up on the new Remington's, I do have a model 700 BDL in 7mm Rem Mag that has a GK barrel code, meaning it was built in June of 1962, this first year of production for the 700 and the 7 mag.
