I was just wondering what your thoughts were on which brand(s) of ammo have left your your gun(s) harder to clean.

Years back (within the last 10) I shot some UMC 9mm through my Taurus PT-92. I've never seen anything so dirty so I avoid that brand like the plague.

norinco ammo, you know, the gold painted crap! That stuff would spatter my face every time the gun fired. And talk about dirty inside, looked like I shot a case.

A handload; 30/40 Krag with a 200 gr cast bullet and 15 gr IMR 4350. Half the powder didn't even burn! Surprisingly though, it is one of the most accurate 50 yard loads I've found.

The old Federal Hi-power load in 22RF. I used to shoot a Clark Custom, built on a Mark I frame by Ruger. That was the dirtest amo. that I ever shoot. I had to take in complete gun apart, every time I shoot a match. It was also the most accurate. The guys got to raiseing hell about the loud crack in the indoor range so I quit useing it. The only thing close in performace was CCI mini.group, and that wasnt that good, so I sold the gun. Boy that Federal ammo. would shoot!
    LOOK TWICE,SHOOT ONCE.

    WOLF. ANY WOLF.

But like Greenlantern mentioned, it is cheap enough to warrant the extra time cleaning.
