Brand new Internaional Harv M1 Garand?

Today you won't believe what I got my greedy little mittens on... I found a guy who's father somehow obtained a few M1 Garands straight off the shipping crates from International Harvester and one got forgotten about over the years. Anyway the man died and left his some several hundred guns including this little gem. Its a MINT condition, complete ALL MATCHING SERIAL NUMBERs, CHAMBER NEVER EVEN OPENED, still has a cosmoline tube down the barrel and a little cap on the end M1 Garand, and for a whopping $2000 it is now in my little mits.

Now my question is, did I get a bargin, pay what its worth, or pay a little more.

How much is this little gem worth? What should I do with it?

A little tough love here: you need to ask the value BEFORE you plunk down big bucks!

The most common IHC would sell in the $1,500-1,800 range if in mint condition. A couple hundred mint or near-mint IHCs were recently sold by the Civilian Marksmanship Program for $950. (It is not "matching numbers", since M1's have the serial # only on the receiver; there are some "correct" mixed parts IHC's.)

It could be worth a lot more if a scarce variation. Check out the index on the Culver Shooting Page site (www.jouster.com) for photos and descriptions.

Sounds a bit high but definitely mint if you were not taken on a snipe hunt.
What do you mean when you say numbers matching?
    Sounds fishy right there.

Thanks guys, I'm going to get a better look at it next monday and will update. I'm also hoping I'm not being lead on a snipe hunt.
