I am looking for a clip for a Marlin 882, 22 mag that doesn't hang down below the stock. I am guessing that this would need to be a three or four round clip/magazine. Does anybody make an after market magazine that would fit this description? Any ideas or leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a Marlin model 40 sold by coast to coast. Its the same as a model 60. It was manufactured in 1971. My question is, is the bolt supposed to stay open after the last round is fired? Mine doesnt and I end up dry firing every time after the last round is fired, and I know its not good for your rifle. The rifle is clean. I have taken it completely apart several times and it still does not remain open. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Thanks!! for the reply. If I get no other post I'll order one from them (10.95 not bad price) and I'll make my own (cut and bend). I still think someone would make a short clip for the 882?

My brother has one like that and when I started to look for another 22 mag I went with the tube fed, Like the one I had as a kid. 12 shots instead of seven, It is a bit of a pain to load but you don't have that mag hanging down.None the less I love shooting the 22 mag.
Remember,"your woman may not find you handsome, But atleast she'll find ya handy". I love that show..............

Handyman, you'll find there are no other shorter mags for that series of rifle. The factory has been the exclusive maker of that mag and they only made one size. If you want a shorter one, you'll have to do the "cut and bend" yourself.

Finished the clip!!! The reason I asked for an 882 clip is because it's the one Marlin uses for the new .17V. The gun looks Great with the short clip and it carrys nice also! The clip holds 3 rounds plus one in the chamber(plenty for the game I shoot at).Thinking on how to do it without trashing or scratching the clip took longer then actualy making it (5hr to think,1hr to make). If any body wants to know howto do it, ask and I'll post how, it"s easy

wouldn't the new mag for the 17V work also for the 22 mag since the new .17 is just a necked down 22 mag. only a guess but has any one tried it

Who's got their 17-V to try?!!!!! We can't get them here in VA. Had 24 ordered at the shot show, 7 Rugers and 17 Marlins. Got 1 Ruger this week!!! I guess we don't live close enough to the suppliers!! Ruger, Marlin, NEF, Anshutz and whoever may make the thing, HAVE A STOCK OF THE THINGS MADE BEFORE YOU ADVERTISE THEM!!!!! GHD

GSKYHAWK: Yes the 17v clip will fit the 882 (same clip), I needed the extra clip just in case it didn't work or I messed up.
GDH: In Jackson Mi. the gun shop I go to has recivied 1 marlin 17v, 1 17vs and 2 ruger 17's with shells. This is a personal project, not for sale.
