I got a bolt action shotgun that was made using an Mauser 98 action. This is the second one I have ever seen (unless of course I am seeing the same one twice just 25 years apart - hum a possibility). You know anything about these contraptions. I mean somebody did one heck of a lot of machine work to make a single shot shotgun.
I gonna email ya some pictures. The madalion thingy in the stock is about 1" in dia.
Got any ideas drap me an E.
Thanks, Pelican

Hey, if you read this and didn't get the E it's cause I sent it to the old address.

Let me know and I'll resend.

I've got one of those, too - in the same condition. From what I understand, most of them have missing boltfaces. Mine is not a single shot, though. I can get a round in the magazine.

I had one of these a long time back. Name was Geha. Lost the bolt face while hunting, noticed it before I fired. Good thing because the firing pin still stuck out and would have fired and blown everything out the breech. I back-tracked and found the part in the dirt.
Saw one at a show 5 months ago for $325. All there and ready to shoot. Last poster is right,- it held 2 rounds, 12 gauge.

Sounds like a very unsafe weapon, to be kept in hands of collectors and knowledgable users.

Thanks to all for the replies and to our El Capitan for the email. Y'all is right it ain't safe to shoot like it is. Big hole where the primer would be that would allow the primer to blow out and fill yer face with hot gas and any other parts that happen to be loose at the time. Like I told El Capitan I think this will be come one of those infamous 'gunsmith specials'. 'Preciate it y'all. Now - a one, a two, a three ...............

I'VE SEEN AND WORKED ON SEVERAL OF THESE, THEY GENERALY WORK OK WHEN ALL THERE AND ARE NOTED FOR TIGHT PATTERNS. I HAVE ONE NOW IN 12 GA. AND CAN SEND DIMENSIONS ON THE BOLT HEAD IF YOU WANT TO HAVE ONE MADE ( THEY MADE THESE IN 12, 16 AND 20 GA.)

There were two distinct guns made .The most common is the GEHA,with cut down military stock. Then there is the REMO which had a sporter stock with the customary raised side panels along the sides of the action. That one is much harder to find. The mechinics are nearly identical and both work well if the parts match.I have both types, both 12 ga. would like to find one in 20 ga. someday for the collection.
