hopefully u can help me out a little here...Does anyone have any idea the target relase date for the Walther P22 22 caliber pistol. You may have seen the pistol in the most recent james bond movie. It is a very distinct looking pistol made of a green resin, and almost looks fake. Any information on the subject would be aprecitated. Hell even if you dont know any information on the subject just say hi so i know there are other people in this world! thanks

The Walther "P22" is already being produced--unless there is some type of "Special Edition" you're talking about.

Search the Gunbroker auction site for "Walther P-22"--there have been a few listed there.

I handled one at a local shop a few weeks back--it really "felt great"; it was the shorter barreled model without the muzzle brake. It is now on my list of things I need to get....eventually.

Yep, it's available now. There's also a 5" barrel model for a bit more $$, billed as a "target" model; I have one awaiting shipment to my transfer dealer as we speak - GB auction closed last Friday.

You might check some reviews or talk with someone who has one before you make the purchase.

I've sold 5 of them so far. The first 4 were gone within 3 days of their arrival. The last one took a week. The reviews thus far have been very good. Many have been impressed with their accuracy and reliability. I have even got the extra magazines, which has been a real trick. The guns are still hard to get for now, but they have been available off and on since last year. However, you can't just walk in to a shop and tell the dealer that you want one. If they don't have one on the shelf, they can't just order one up, there is a back order list at all the distributors at this time. So far the gun is selling better than the supplies of it can keep up with.

I played with one today at my local gun store and was pretty impressed with the style and the way it felt. I mentioned in another post that I recommended getting a Ruger Mark II for the price of the P22 because the Rugers that I have have been perfect. I still would recommend getting the Ruger first, but because I already have Rugers, I am now thinking about getting one of these for the heck of just getting one. It's light and appear very well built. The true test is actually firing it, but it looks like it's worth a shot. GD
