I agree with Saxon Pig. We need someway to get shipping laws made
simpler to read for first time users, with examples. Such as shipping
to a C&R liscensee and to a FFL Dealer. Just like "antiques". Wether
they use available cartridges or such as pinfire or OLD rimfires, not
commercially available. Also "legal to send via USPS longuns".
For ammo I have UPS Hazmat regs. for shipping ammo up to .50 cal.
which can be sent by UPS (with proper packing ETC.) as ground UPS
with no extra fee. Call UPS Hazmat at 800 554 9964 for a e mailed
copy of regs. including how to make the stickers. UPS prices for
shipment are available at www.ups.com under rates and depend on
zip code to zip code plus insurance and weight and package size
for price. However, when shipping a few lbs, cost of delivering to the door is high, 10 lbs or more is not prohibitive. Check it out
and really know. Same thing goes for shipping "legal longuns" via
U.S.P.S. to a FFL (who charges the customer for transfer). USPS
has a site, www.usps.com and given the package size, weight and
zip to zip and insurance will give price for shipping.
