Anybody ever here of the 2 companys combined on production - I saw an o/u 12ga with silver coin finish receiver engraved and has Sauer - Beretta on the side - I think it was S56E (or 57). Nice condition, but light weight receiver.

The only Beretta O/U that I still have is a Silver Pigeon. However, all of the Beretta's that have been through my hands were all capable of doing the job they were designed to do.
I have never owned an S56E, only had one in hand at a gun show. Depending on the source you look at: Gun Trader's Guide says $550, 2001 Standard Catalog of Firearms says $600, and the Blue Book of Gun Values says $700. Personally, the O/U that is my favorite is the Savage 444 and I would not give $550 for it or the Beretta S56E. If you just have a "hankering" for an O/U and have around $500 in disposable income without getting "dragon-breath" from the spouse, then you could do a lot worse than the Beretta.
Regards
