What is the best method by which to correct?
Grind down the front site?
Other means?

I bought a Turkish Mauser 8mm from SOG, It was purchased as a low cost shooter and it is just that. It shoots to the right [which I have compensated for] but hits 10" to 12" high at 100m even when rear site is ine the 100 position.

Raise the front sight is the correct answer, I have a coule of front sight for a M/96 swedish mauser if you interested? Measure the height of your sight and E_MAIL me Gunsisme@aol.com

Here's the answer! 100 meters is 328 feet!Your point of impact is 12 high. 328ft(100 meters) X 12=3936inches ( number of inches in 328 ft)! 12" (point of impact)divided by 3936 (length of 100 meters)=.0030487805 (very little number). Now multiply this number by the distance between your front and rear sight! This is how much higher your new sight needs to be over the height ofthe existing sight! Hope this helps
