Just get a 22.I have a Norinco 45 and tried a friends Ciener conversion for his Colt and was really disappointed with it.If you need your 45 do you want to fool with field stripping the conversion and then put it back as a 45.Just buy a 22.Just MHO Ace

I bought a Kimber 22 conversion and it is the same way, just replace the slide & mag and start shooting. After a few sessions I did end up buying a Caspian frame and completed it ... so in essence, I did "Just buy another gun" ... the only give-away is the slide is stamped "22LR Conversion" but this way I don't have to strip another gun to use it. I've heard Ciener makes the Kimber 22 conversion, however when I asked Jon in the Kimber Custom Shop, I never got a straight answer, just that "they are very similar."

The only bad thing about choosing a Kimber ...
... there are so darn many models to choose from!

is to me, by far the best. Takes me about 2 minutes to change over.
It seems like one either hates, or loves the 1911. Also, the Colt
conversions can eat the standard velocity round fine. I believe
others dont eat standard velocity rounds.
I have the one from Kimber and yes it is made by Ceiner for them. The Ceiner units work well as long as you use high velocity ammo. They can be added to the standard 1911 in about 10 seconds. The only problem with a Ceiner unit is he has a reputation for never taking anything back no matter what. Buy it from Kimber and you won't have that problem. Also, the Kimber one has features that are not offered on any one that you can buy direct from Ceiner.
Hope this helps.
