This issue of GunList there are two Colt Camp Perry revolvers.
One is going for $3000plus and the other for $2850.

Don't know if this is realistic or dreaming, but it's there.

    bk,
The Colt Camp Perry is an extremely collectable gun. The eight inch is more desirable than the ten inch as there were fewer manufactured.
I can not define vg condition but if in 90% strong and all original, no pits, scars, etc., I would rate the price at $1,500.00 plus/minus.
The big issue is being original. Custom grips? Big decrease in value.
I have no idea what a sight extender is. If the metal was altered, spot price. Perhaps you may explain the condition and origanility a bit more. Original condition is everything. Love to own one in original condition. Best, 101

it is not orignal it has been custom altered for match use.
the sight is hard to discribe it extends from the top of the grip
to extend the sight line.the grips are custom wood with thumb rest.
I wish I could prove it was fired at camp perry. but I can't.

    thanks for the input.

The Screaming Eagle is correct. There is one on the auction site now that has not reached its reserve several times.

The alterations mentioned probably just about destroy the collectabliity of this pistol, unless they can be reversed. Stocks off any I-frame will replace the custom stocks, and Pre-War I-frame stocks are not rare, although it will take some looking. The sight modification is unclear to me, but I gather the metal is altered, which is probably fatal to the value. The description sounds a bit like a tang sight on a Winchester lever action. Is that close?

I agree the 8-inch is much rarer than the 10-inch (about 4 to 1 rarer as I recall), but I do like the looks of that long barrel! I have a first year 10-inch, and a last year 8-inch, which makes for a nice "bookend" pair. The short action of the 8-inch makes for noticably faster hammer fall, but I am not a good enough shot to notice the difference on the target.

It is always interesting to see people try to figure out how that flat cylinder rotates! Finally they have to ask how it works, and are surprised to find out the pistol is a single shot.
