Any reason why a pair of factory plastic grips from a P226 would not fit another P226? I know that SIG changed the style of them from the checkered ones I had, but the guy I sold them to says they won't fit his gun. I don't think he knows how to install them right, but that's just my guess.

There was two models made one DA only, which has no Decocker. Then there is the traditional DA/SA with the decocker. If you have grips for the traditional which is more common they will fit.But if the grips were made for DA only they will not fit because the slot is not cut out for the decocker. Our Dept carries the traditional DA and were special ordered with Hogue rubber grips, they sent the plastic ones as well.I put the plastic ones back, and ordered another pair of Hogue Rubber grips from Ajax Grips, just in case I needed to replace them. But they have proven themselves to be durable.Your friend can order the grips for his gun from Ajax Grips for $14.99.Hope this helps.
