I am thinking about buying a Ruger P 90. I have found a special edition that I like. What I want to know is this a good gun or is there something better in a .45 that is better for around the same price?

Nothing better in the same price range. It's a Ruger, an old reliable brick that will never fail you. I go to the range with several friends all with various types of 1911's and other .45's and they have a "jam" session while me and my Rugers have a shooting session. Have fed my P-90 all the types of ammo that cause feed problems with the other guys' .45's and no problem. You can feed your Ruger anything except pancakes for breakfast and it will fire. As far as accuracy, your P-90 will be as accurate as you are.......practice. Have a S&W 5906 and a Ruger P-85 and find no difference in accuracy, yet when friends switch to the Ruger they are off. You should be well satisfied with the P-90. Just my personal experience and opinion.

Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.

I own many .45acps and my Ruger P90 is as good as my glock or my Springfield,or my Colt.It is a top notch gun all the way around it will reliably shoot anything. And with proper maintenance should last a lifetime.

    Best!!

Ditto on gunpaq & rugster's comments. The P series .45's are great weapons, especially the P-90's. It's appearance kind of grew on me and after installing a Houge wrap around grip, looks down right good (to me). Check out the KP-90 (stainless) ones. They are only a few bucks more. This series comes with a saftey/decocker or just a decocker. Concealable, not really easy to do. Reliable, yes. Accurate, yes. Affordable, yes. I had a P-97 for a while also. I now have 2 KP-90DC's and both have functioned flawlessly. Buy one you will like it. You will find identical looking factory clips with some holding 7 rounds and some holding 8 rounds. Why, I'm not sure. Good luck

Rugers are well engineered bricks. I love my P89. Its just as realiable as any glock, and is alot cheaper. However the trigger has to be its only downfall, the most unergonomic trigger and horrible pull. Because of the trigger, my groups suffer tremendously, in my opinion.

The only other gun in its price range that I would say is equally as relaible would be the CZ 75. I would take a CZ 75 over the ruger, but they don't come in .45acp.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Lee what about the CZ-97B its a .45acp.Not as cheap as the Ruger though they cost arond $100.00 or so more but they are one of the most ergonomic and accurete out of the box pistols I have ever seen.I have a Ruger P-97 that I am very impressed with so far and If you want a .45 Ruger that is the one I would suggest. They are even cheaper than the P-90 and I would say a better gun.If its Ruger get a Ruger P-97 .45acp they are very impressive especially for the money.Around $350.00 brand new.

The CZ97B are pretty nice, but there are also alot more options when you get in that price range.

I'd get the Ruger P-90, you'll be happy with it. Get about 3 factory magazines for it, and lots of ammo.

Check around for pricing too. Try shotgun news, I recall seeing some ruger's in there for low prices.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
