collectable ammo?

Hey guys, I always like to check before using up some older ammo for the possibility that it has some collectable value. Though with ammo prices today I'm sure lots of that is becoming "shooter' stuff...

i recently came across some old 30-06 remington and western ammo in there boxes .for reference please look at gb auction #4776314,#4813261.what would a fair price be on this ammo ? i know knothing about ammo collecting ,thanks in advance ,keep on bangin boys ,don

On that Remington 30-06, save your money,
The Super X, the one thing that it has going for itself is that it is the 220 grain bullets and they are silvertips.
You don't find any 220 grain 30-06's anymore except for the remington Core-lokt.
I probably wouldn't go over 20 bucks for the box of Silvertips. But that's up to you, it's something that they don't make anymore.
You may justify going a little more, just for the sake of having them.

I hope they are not worth much, i shot up a bunch like that through my garand not to long ago. Oh well

ddhotbot, you have mail. And Wittum, not to worry, bullelk's valuation is spot on. The Remington rounds are basically shooters, just old enough to have some slight premium if in near perfect condition. The Westerns bring slightly more. Let's just say that at the listed prices these lots have been available, without bids, for two plus months and in a rational market place will still be available twenty years from now.
