Or does anyone know if anyone besides Hornady loads the 17HMR,or if they plan to?Im paying a little over $8.00 a box,I sure would like to see them come down some.

    Nobody else is currently making 17HMR. I bought a case from Ron Shirk Shooters Supply and it cost me 7.95/box plus shipping which made it about 8.30. That's better than the 10.95 price at most shops. I beleive we'll see a couple different bullets offered within 6 months. My guess would be a 20-22 grain offering with a little different construction to control expansion some. The 17grains are super explosive at ranges up to 200 yards but are too explosive for small game hunting at 50-100 yards. It is as advertised "a varmint round". Also my first hit on something bigger than a groundhog resulted in a wounded animal!! The hit was in the shoulder so maybe part of it was my fault for not hitting the neck. If you shoot a coyote or fox do your best to hit the neck or he's not going down! GHD
