I have a 1966 MCA Mannlicher Shoenauer carbine full stock DST with an original set of mounts and rings. It was bought new in 1968 in Germany. It HAD a Kahles scope ( removed many years back )the problem is I need to know who made the rings & mounts. The front ring mounted around the bell of the scope and is appoximately (1 7/8" or 47mm inside diameter) rear ring is (1" or 26mm) with only 5 1/8" between the two rings. The rings are quick detatchable.the front one sets down in the mount with the scope at a 90 degree to rifle on the left side then turn scope towards rear ring until it is over rear mount, then there is a little locking slide plate you push forward to secure the rings. Would like to replace with 1" rings without replacing the mounts. WHEW! thnxs

I've seen rings and bases like you've described....they're a "Claw Mount" design.....popular on many European scopes and rifles. Not sure who the manufacturers are, Kahles, Ziess, and others have used these....beautiful mounts.....

    Progun,
    Welcome to GB.
Try to look at a copy of a 1968 vintage of a Stoegers Shooters Bible Catalog. They may have the information you need in there, along with illustrations.

I have a complete set of them dating back to 1932, and they come in mighty for a lot of my reference work.

Thanks bullelk I will try to locate a copy of a 1968 vintage of a Stoegers Shooters Bible Catalog. But I got a feeling that trying to find a 1968 copy around this town may render the same results as I got with the rings. will check thnxs again ProGun
