Star Model B

Anyone have any experience with the older Star 1911 clones? I'm looking at a Model BMin 9mm. Looks like a Commander size version of the model B. I picked up a full-sized 9mm in the late 60s and it was a nice piece. I don't remember what the model was but it was similiar to a 1911 but did not have a grip safety. I bought it for practically nothing and traded it later. Thanks

I need some help here. I have a Star Model b in 9m/m Para. Pistol has been shooting flawlessly. Took it out today, and the first 20 shots or so fired just fine. Then the slide stopped coming back in recoil leaving the fired case in the chamber. Slide seemed a little hard to get back to eject case, but no real problem. This happened a couple of times. I disassembled the pistol, cleaned and oiled it, again no luck. I have tried several types of ammo so I am ruling out the ammo. Any ideas?
    Thanks,

Just bought a Star Model B from AIM Suplus. I think I paid about $100 more than its worth but it had free shipping so that made up for some of it. At first glance, I really like it because it feels so much like a 1911.

Pistol appears to be in great shape other than very minor frosting in the grooves. Trigger is very heavy and scrunchy so will have to work on that or have a good gunsmith do it. I understand there are some concerns with extractors. Can anyone give me any insight on what to expect with this pistol, i.e. ease of improving the trigger, potential problems to expect.

    Thanks!!

Will Colt 9mm mags work in the Star Model B?

Is the extractor broken or worn?? Did you miss a particle of dirt or brass on the bolt face or barrel?

Thanks BullElk. The extractor looks good and the pistol is really clean.
This one is a real puzzle to me.
