I just purchased a used Ruger 10/45, SS bull barrel, adj sights.
Has anyone had functioning problems with this type pistol?
TIA

I have one and it has never failed, it eats any kind of ammo I run though it.

I bought mine used from a man who said that it failed to feed occasionally. I took it home, stripped & cleaned it, keep it clean and have never had a problem through thousands of rounds. Great gun!

Bill: What type of functioning problems? There are a great many Ruger Experts (I'm not one)that can help if you detail the problem. I also have owned one for many years, shoot it every other day (40-50 rds), almost never clean it, and have never had a misfeed or ejection.

Sounds like something is broken or mis-assembled.

The only times I have seen Ruger's(pistols) fail to eject or fire have been as a direct result of lack of cleaning or improperly cleaning. Clean around the breech face and the extractor grove and you'll have no problems. They are easy to take care of and reliable. Enough said.

if it didnt come with the manual, you might have kind of a tricky time reassembling it the first time. but you will catch on

I have experienced failures to feed on more occasions than I would like to admit. I keep a VERY clean gun. I found it to be more or less ammo related. When using CCI Mini Mags I have very few problems.

Overall, a great accurate gun, but I don't trust it to fire without a jam every once in a while...Perhaps someday I'll take it in for a professional inspection and analysis...
