Wood for a new stock...

OK I got myself in trouble and I need help ...I think!?? I've been looking for some wood for a project rifle I want to build, and I finally found it on eBay. Problem is this is "green" wood and not dried (should have asked before I bid! *G*) But that's all water under the bridge at this point. This is still a great looking piece of wood! Now what do I do to dry this properly, so it doesn't crack or check? Can anybody help me here? THX! ...Mark
