essex s/s

Trying to find out about a 12 bore s/s stamped Essex on the right barrel serial n.b yz74520.
Been told it is Spanish made in 1971 would like to know who the maker is and a bit about them if a tall possible

    My reference notes that "Essex" was a trade name used on shotguns, by the Belknap Hardware Co. of Louisville, KY, USA. Early in the 20th Century.

    The guns were made by both Crescent and Stevens, over the years.

    It's entirely possible that you have a Spanish shotgun of a much latter vintage, using the same name. If so, the numerous Spanish proofmarks, would be indicative of it's country of origin.
