Is "Riverside" a house name for a well made gun, or is it a fly-by-night kind of deal?

I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly

I've seen lots of Riverside Arms, single shot and double barrel. From the looks I always assumed they were Savage- Stevens.

I also saw a neat pump in 12 ga. that bore the Riverside brand. It was an older gun but appeared to be a well constructed pump shotgun. Some of the metal was joined on the bottom of the receiver with a sort of a "dove tailed" method, i.e. like well made furniture drawers. The guy wanted $200.00 for it, I passed. Probably should of bought it.

Worry is the interest humans pay on the debt of miscalculation.

I have one of those Riverside humpback pumps you are speaking of. Some of them say Riverside 520 on the side, some just say Riverside (like mine) It's the same as the stevens 520. However, In the case of mine it seems to be a step up (rather than down) from the Stevens 520 due to the level of checking on the fore and stock. I have not seen this on a stevens 520. Also has a very low serial number and an unusual 32" barrel.
