This is not a king cobra, it is a Colt Custom Cobra .357 magnum double action 6 shot w flip out cylinder, the barrel is a 4inch if you cant tell from the pics. The overall style is almost identical to the king cobra however there are many small differences. I believe this would be considered a 98% or better "first time using the rating system" the line on the cylinder is very very faint, and I was told only 12-18 rounds have been fired threw this gun.

I would like to find out the history of this firearm, aproximate value and any other information about it.

All I know is that the owner called colt and they said that it was in a run of only 250 I cannot say what number you are looking at because of the owners concerns, however I will say it is in that batch of 250. Any information would be helpfull thanks.

For a closer look at it follow this link I did not want to put this directly in the thread because of the size of these pictures.

In Oct.of 1999,Colt announced that all dbl. action revolvers would be discontinued, including any custom shop manufacture. During 2002 Colt announced that the Custom Shop would make both the Anaconda and the
Python elite, the only two currently produced by Colt.
Most Colt dbl action revolvers can have their original configuration confirmed with a Colt factory letter. To obtain a letter, write:
COLT ARCHIVE PROPERTIES,LLC,P.O. Box 1868, Hartford, CT, 06144
The research fee is approximately $75-$100, depending on the model. If they cannot obtain additional information on the variation you request, they will refund $50.
I hope this will help you a little anyway.

I figured out how to search the auctions by what auctions have ended and I was able to find a pair of these that sold. I hope that it helps in determining the value of just 1.

I am guessing purely going by that auction that this gun would be worth with out the box maybe 750 tops? Of course I am not an expert I await your guys opinion :).

Right now if I wanted I could pick this up for 607, The only reason I would however is to re-sell it, since its not exactly my style and its to expensive/to short for hunting.
