the 22 center fire magnum (22 rem. jet) was developed jointly by remington & smith & wesson for the Mod. 53 revolver. it was introduced about 1960 and discontinued in 1974. I believe thompson/center also chambered a barrel in that cal. for a time. to my knowledge, the ammo is not produced any longer.
your box of Peters 22 jet should fetch a premium price as the shells & brass are now scarce. if you put it up for auction, start it about $20.00. not long ago someone posted a "wanted" ad for that cal. brass.

Research past sales on the auction boards and then if you want to sell it you'll have a good price setting base.
Don't worry about asking prices that didn't sell just look for a solid average on what did.
