I CAN NOT GET MY REM 1187 TO GROUP. I HAVE CHANGED SCOPES, AMMO AND BARRELS WITH NO LUCK. I CURRENTLY HAVE A CANTALEVER SLUG BARREL ON THE GUN. IF SOMEONE HAS HAD GOOD LUCK GETTING THIER GUN TO GROUP PLEASE LET ME IN ON THE SECRET.

You didn't state whether you are using a rifled barrel or smooth bore barrel. With rifled barrels, use sabots, with smooth bore barrels, use rifled slugs.

Had the same problem. Fixed it by using federal sabots. They are expensive but the only ones that will group. Got 3" groups at 100 yards with them. Tried about 10 or 12 other slug types and couldn't hardly keep them on paper. Hope this can help. owen219

I assume you have a rifled barrel. I've had good luck with the Remington copper solids 2 3/4" or 3", not to be confused with remington's other sabot round. I've shot these through several 12 ga and 20 ga guns and have had good accuracy with every one of them. They are not as fast as some others but they can be pushed to about 140 yards if you know your drop. Line them up 2" high at 50 yards. What ever you do, do not use cheap sabots.

The faster sabot slugs are a different story although I've had good luck with the Hornady SST's for accuracy in 4 differnt guns both 12 ga and 20 ga. With these faster slugs you may have to try several brands and none of them may hold accuracy.

Of course with any fire arm check your scope mounts etc. Are you using a vise? If not get one. Make sure it isn't you. Even though you have changed scopes if you are using cheap ones you may have just ruined a couple with the 12ga recoil. How many rounds are you trying to group, shotgun barrels get hot quick. Try shooting 3 rounds, each from a cold barrel, yes I know it takes a while. Shoot a 22 while waiting.

If it is a smooth bore try using Federal trueball slugs.

Even though you have changed scopes I suspect the scope or the mounts. But, like I already said, make sure it isn't you. You may want to let a buddy shoot it and see what happens, provided they can handle the recoil and still be accurate.

    Good luck..........Scout
