I read that the 303 British uses .3105-312 bullets. And the .303 savage uses .308 diameter. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read that somewhere when thinking about buying a Savage 99 in .303 Savage.

Nevermind, it's right in the link NN gave. No need to correct me I mean.

The 303 savage is very close ballistically to the 30-30. The brit averages about 500 fps faster.

The 303 savage will chamber and fire in the 303 Brit. It has a .308 Bullet were the brit has a .311-.312 cal., but you should not fire savage ammo in your Brit. There is only about .025" neck left and if your chamber is elongated or your locking lug is worn you may get a flash in your face.
