Lymann peep sight

I have my Grandfathers old Model 70 in 30-06 it has a Lymann peep sight. The rifle was made in 1937 so I'm guessing the sights are near that age as well. But it's missing the insert, does anyone have any ideas were I can find a replacement?

Thank you in advance.

Call Jim Keller @ 605-472-1109. He makes disks for receiver and tang sights -- all brands.

Welcome and thank you to your Grandfather for giving you one
great rifle. Lyman is still in business and may have the part
    that you desire: www.lymanproducts.com
If not- Gary Fellers in Texas specializes in metallic sights.
    Tel. No. (817) 346-9633

Best of luck and keep that old Model 70 active,

Thank you all for the info.
101 wish I could tell grandpa thanks, but I have taken it hunting a few times and will continue to do so. It's best way I know of saying thank you. I'll have to visit mom to see the rifle and maybe get a few pic's. I lost my house and I'm living in a apt. now and don't want to take any chances of being stolen.
Second thought here for insurance purposes what would be a good way of getting cost price for it? Not that I would ever sell it, this one keeps getting passed down.

I believe you mean the insert for the front sight. If that is correct then I have a bunch of them. I think I even have a brand new set in the original hanging package. If this is what you need and you're interested then shoot me an email

Sorry I'm talking about the insert for the rear appiture (spelling problem). The front sight has a brass or gold dot. Funny thing is as it is now it'll drive nails at a hundred yards if I do my part. I thank you for the offer mutter but maybe you needed to hang on to them. Never know when a Sharp's may end up in your safe I'm really liking this forum wish I had found it sooner.
