emty ammo

Can empty small arms ammo be shipped from the USPS?

    If you mean by "empty" that they are spent casings, no powder or primer than yes the USPS will accept.

    If you have lots of them the USPS flat rate boxes are awsome. Any weight to anywhere in the US for $9.

    Up to 70lbs but I agree thats the way to ship.

    Yeah, You can get 2200 to 2300 empty .38S&W Special or .357Mag. cases in a USPS Flat Rate Box. That's about 30 pounds or so, give or take.

    Here's a tip, though: Be sure and get two of the Flat Rate Boxes. Assemble both boxes and then cut the top (the top 4 *) off one of the boxes. Push/insert/squeeze the topless box into the other box to reinforce it. Pour in the brass and place a couple of the cut-off * over the brass. Now fold over the outside boxtop * an seal everything up well with packing tape.

    If you don't do this, you stand a good chance of the heavy box splitting open in transit and scattering your brass from one end of the country to the other.
