Can you tell me what a 1873 44wcf. barrel measures across the flats?

    Typically, on a standard octagon barrel, they will measure .945 +/- .005 at the breech end, and .810 +/- .005 at the muzzle.

    I thought that I might have had a heavy barrel, but I guess not. I have a '73 22 short and that one is about a 1/32 smaller than the 44wcf.

    I do not own a Model 1873 with a "heavy" barrel, but I believe that I have a reference that lists it as being 1.10" at the breech and 1.00 at the muzzle.
