I am considering purchasing an S.T.I. 1911 .45 baseline model! My local rep informed me that every part of the weapon is C.N.C. machined! The price is $750.00. In your opinion is my money better spent elsewhere? Are there better 1911's out there? I value your opinion as it will dictate my decision! Thankyou for your time sir!

I tried to email you about the brick of federal 711B with dimple case heads, but couldn't tell if you emailed me back because the address I used to set this up back in 2001 hadn't been checked in a while and apparently is just a massive junk mail collector.

If you don't mind email me here, darwinfoto09@yahoo.com

I purchased a Remington rand 1911, it was made in 1943, and the barrel says, 45 auto 7791193, can this be an original barrel? All other proof marks look good and look correct, just wondering about the barrel.

I would like to tag a question on myself (about $600 I think).

My bro-law was gushing about his new Tarus 45, and I had a chance to handle it yesterday. Although I was only able to shoot 15 rounds, it had a pretty good feel to it. 5 of the last 8 cloverleafed at 20 yards...close to what I can get from my best 1911.

Any factual buzz or feel on their latest 1911 release ?

Hello I sent you a long winded email from work but basic it gets down to a debate over forged VS cast frames slides and part as well as Who put the pistol together. Bottom Line is a pistol that is CCW does not need the same standards as a plinker or a Bulls-Eye match shooter that wants a pistol to group for Thousands of rounds before a Rebuild. I am both old "opinionated" and old school. I like forged and Made in USA. I don't like after-market parts just to make a pistol Look NEAT but if they are needed for function in your type of shooting and they are are installed by a qualified person or part of a package they may be a better mousetrap. My ideal 1911 type pistol would be a series 70 colt with Bomar sights and a fitted Barsto or Kart barrel in other words a DCM / CMP legal pistol "PRAISE THE HARD-BALL GUN"

in most ccw cases, you DONT want match tolerences. just a little dust can cause malfunctions. work guns were designed to work in all conditions. match guns were designed to work in MATCH conditions...which means most guns will be cleaned in between matches sometimes twice a day.
sounds like a lot of money for a 45.
perry and i am old school. its hard for us to imagine anything but ugly, hand made, affordable, and accurate.[:)]
