Took it to a local gunsmith a few weeks ago. To have the trigger lightened up a bit.. takes him 2 weeks to get to it. I pick it up take it home won't fire the primer. Firing pin is not broke.. The little safety bar that is supposed to stay up for the hammer to strike is falling to soon.. I took it back to him he had it another two weeks.. I went to pick it up he had it apart. I looked it over with him. He pulled a bullet out of a 45 LC pulled the trigger click. re cocked pulled it again and it fired. It fire two shots out of 3.. I bring it home try it again. It took about 18 clicks to fire 3 rounds.. Please tell me what to do.. Besides find a better smithy.
I had the rifle apart today. But I can not see where anything is missing and nothing broken at all.
Could he have possibly filed to much off of the trigger? Thanks Eric Enk

Send it back to Rossi. Since Taurus owns them now, they are covered with the lifetime warrenty.

You are correct, he took too much off the trigger.
The transfer bar is not coming up far enough before the hammer falls because the trigger is not far enough to the rear to raise the transfer bar.
Instead of gently squeezing the trigger, as is the normal way, pull the trigger vigorously all the way to the rear without stopping when the hammer falls.
If that works, all you can do is replace the trigger. Taurus will not warranty faulty/unauthorized repair.
Try a few rounds this way and let us know if they all fired.

    Thanks---Peabo

If I jerk the trigger really hard I can get the firing pin to extend. Just a slow draw no.. and even on the hard jerks it is not consistent.sometimes it feels as if the trigger is hanging up.. and this is after the hammer is on the way down.
I was not shooting rounds. I was dry firing it so I can watch whether or not the firing pin will extend far enough to hit a primer.
I know about dry firing.. But hey it has to hit the firing pin before it can break it..Thanks

Be a GREAT DAD,,buy her a real rifle..AMERICAN..those made befor 1940 were real guns and still shoot better than this new junk.. Sorry if I wounded guys,I just get heated up over the poor quality you get with this newe batch of firearms..I understand the problem being prices, too much pressure to compete for the sales,,so they push them out the door as soon as they are together, rather than do the tune up needed.A sorry state to be sure..modoc
