Kimber II

What modifications did Kimber make to their II model for California? I read a post where somebody said they would not buy this model. Does anybody know what is so bad about the new Kimbers? The reason I ask is because I just got one. I went to the Kimber site and could not track down the answer. Thanks for your help.

Do you mean the Ultra Carry CDP II? Mine is totally reliable and malfunction free. Best darn gun I ever owned.

The Kimber II pistols have a firing pin safety that is activated when the grip safety is depressed. I bought a KImber II pistol with this system and much prefer the old style Kimber, without the safety. You have to be careful when reassembling the Kimber II series pistols so that you don't break the firing pin safety plunger. I don't like the new Kimbers at all.

Chris8161 that's what I was afraid of...Oh well I guess it is better to have a Series II rather than not having a Kimber at all. Has anyone seen any articles on this problem? Can I legally modify it?
