Send Glock back to factory?

I was thinking about sending my Glock to the factory because it has jammed quite a few times, no matter how clean it is. I have a 2nd generation Glock 22. It jams on several different kinds of ammo, from winchester to remington. About 2 out of fifteen shots does not extract the shell from the chamber when fired. As the slide comes forward, the next bullet is lodged under the empty shell. I don't think this is a stovepipe jam because the shell does not eject, period. One of the shells even got stuck in the chamber so hard i had to rack the gun VERY hard to get it out.Can I get some advice on what to do here? Should I send it to Smyrna and wait or is it just an extractor problem and need a new one? Thanks

I did not think Glocks ever malfunctioned. How can this be? I heard they are the most reliable guns in the world.Seriously, there probably IS something wrong with this particular pistol because Glocks are very reliable. It sounds like a tight or rough chamber. If nothing is obvious from looking, send it back to Glock USA. Good luck.

Glocks (along with many other guns that come to mind) can be over-lubricated. Wipe your Glock absolutely dry and divest it of all lubricant. Then open up your owners manual and apply a conservative amount of lubrication only to the three lubrication points mentioned in the owners manual. Take it out to the range and fire it again and post your results. If you still have problems, I'd send it back. I've never had a Glock malfunction. Are you using factory mags?

I thought over lubrication was the problem the first time, but did just as the manual says and it still had problems. I called Glock USA after the first time and they suggested new mags springs, and they sent one. I was using a factory hi-cap.I think I will send it in. Any idea on how long it will take?

check for a chipped extractor and make sure you are using the factory spring and guide rod, not one of those adjustable ones. a new mag spring will help to lock the slide back after the last round.

I'm thinking extractor problem, it may not be evident to the eye, due to the fact that it pulls the rest of the empty's. Look at it anyway, you never know. Also, is this all the same brand of maybe some cheap ammo?

    Just an update...

    You could be right, JustC,

I called Glock and explained the problem to the Tech. He thinks it's a worn extractor. I checked it out and it did seem pretty beat up. It was no longer sharp and was getting pretty rounded.

As soon as I install I'll let you know. Thanks for the info!

You did the right thing. Have always found Glock excellent in repairing any defective parts. Have only had to send one back, but they completely overhauled it. This was my first Glock 22 that I purchased as a factory rebuid. I bought it instead of a new model 22 to get the two preban drop free magazines.

I sent it to the factory w/o magazine, they returned it with two more 15 round magazines, at no charge.
