Low S/N's on modern weapons

I have a NIB American made stainless Walter PPK with a low S/N XXX6XX. This was purchased when they first came out. The question is: How long after introduction and how much would a low S/N affect the value of a weapon?

Thanks.

For modern guns, a low serial # would probably not affect the value, unless perhaps you have #1.

In the case of your gun, American made Walthers are believed by many to be inferior to those made in Germany. So, a low # may be worth less since some people would assume that they were of even lower quality at the beginning of production.

    My Sako L-61 has a 4 digit s/n, wonder if that's good.
