I am wondering what would be a good all aroung target plinker and varminter that still reagiained the appeal of an attractice pistol.ex 92-f,s&w,H&k, etc. Im on a budget of probably nuthin much over five hundread dollars. What is the accuracy that a shooter( with practice) could achive with a 9mm or comprable calbier semi-atuo pistol? thanks for all the help and keep um in the ten range...........

I think that the CZ 75 pistols are nice looking guns they run about 350 each around here (PA) and they come with one 15 rounder mag
Hope that helps

For about $300 you can get a NIB Mark II Stainless and have money left over to buy some nice custom grips.
Still, out of the choices you listed, I'd also go for the Beretta. Try to find one of the INOX (stainless) models. They are real nice.

If the pistol is not too big, why not get the pistol and a .22 conversion kit from Ciener, etc.? The idea of shooting a "real" service pistol with the conversion kit should appeal to a young shooter.
Rugers are nice plinkers, and a stainless has a lot to recommend it.

If we are talking older than that, go with what the shooter likes and fits his/her hands. I would avoid the Desert Eagle in .50AE and the Wildey and Grizzly for the same reasons as above.
As far as accuracy, with practice and training, most shooters can keep most their shots in the 10-ring and most of those in the X-ring on the standard 25-yard target at 25 yards with a decent gun in a decent caliber. Takes some GOOD training and a LOT of practice but it is what you should expect.
As far as caliber/accuracy, see the post "9MMaccuracy?Shootist3006". I would recommend the .38 Super, .38 Special, .45ACP, .32 special as the most accurate (the 10MM and .40S&W may also be on this short list but I don't have enough experience with them to say).
